Just sayin'–My writings that aren't songs
Ethos
Categories: Visual Culture

Brazilian artist Ethos’ meticulous and beautiful work is on display at the impressive new Ogilvy offices, alongside other great works from others as curated by the Carmichael Gallery.  The piece at Ogilvy is childlike, Tim Burtonesque, birds and old ladies, haunting, stunning, evocative, cartoonish. Seeing his work, like other great street artists–spray painted on to the wall directly–brings up the precious  nature of this particular artform.    It is not portable, it is ephemeral.  Invaluable and yet deemed worthless for it’s “can’t take it with you” quality.  Never to be seen again, never to be owned, one of a kind, never to be duplicated.  Take a picture.  See it now.  Learn more about this sweet and talented soul and see his work at his site.
